Iv\u00e1n Hern\u00e1ndez R\u00edos, director of AIM, took part in one of the presentations and in the closing round-table discussion to share some of the work carried out as part of the project <a href=\"https:\/\/genesis.nbs\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"genesis.nbs\">GENESIS <\/a>and discuss the water resources of Barlovento and some of the challenges involved in managing them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">Alongside Raquel Mart\u00edn Ferraz, from the Barlovento Union of Channels, and Alejandro Garc\u00eda Gil, from the IGME-CSIC, Iv\u00e1n took part in the presentation <em>\u201cThe evolution of water resources in Barlovento: yesterday, today and tomorrow. A case study from the GENESIS project\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">Through the case study of Barlovento, we were able to highlight some of the work we are carrying out at GENESIS and discuss how water resources in this part of the island have evolved. The presentation also touched on some of the issues discussed during the conference, such as climate change, irrigation, changes in river flows, water quality and groundwater.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">The morning concluded with a round-table discussion on water management in La Palma in the face of climate change, in which Iv\u00e1n also took part alongside other professionals from the sector.
