La Palma Deep Demonstrator projects
The La Palma Deep Demonstrator (Living Lab) involves the implementation and operation of four climate-resilient Nature-based Solutions (NbS) demonstrators for the protection of water infrastructure and the preservation of groundwater. The physical demonstration infrastructure will enable the investigation, testing and verification of the performance in real-world environments of the NBAs, which have been tailor-made for the island of La Palma (Canary Islands, Spain) and will be integrated alongside other innovative digital initiatives and measures to engage local communities and society.
The development of the Deep Demonstrator’s SbNs involves the collaborative participation of several partners from the GENESIS Consortium.
The call for tenders for works relating to the construction and installation of nature-based solutions at the Deep Demonstrator on La Palma can be summarised as follows:
DM2 Barlovento – Open call for applications
La Palma Deep Demonstrator (Living Lab) includes the implementation and operation of demonstrators of climate-resilient nature-based solutions for the protection of water infrastructure and the preservation of groundwater. The physical demonstration infrastructure will enable the investigation, testing and verification of the performance in real-world environments of the bespoke nature-based solutions on the island of La Palma (Canary Islands, Spain) and which will be integrated alongside other innovative digital initiatives and measures to engage local communities and society.
